DIY Marbled Christmas Cards
02/12/2020Best Papers For Marbling: New Tests & Favourites
09/03/2021An adventure is about to start and you can be part of it! My Patreon page will go live on January 1st, and I expect it to be a total game-changer for both of us. Why? Here are 3 reasons why you should become a patron.
But first, what is Patreon?
For those of you who haven’t heard about Patreon, this is an international platform that connects makers and creators with fans or patrons. It works like a membership or patronage site, with fans or patrons supporting independent brands, makers and creators of all kinds.
What does it mean to support an artist?
The idea behind Patreon is that the patrons support the independent work of makers and creators by paying a membership fee and in exchange getting access to exclusive content and other benefits, like merchandising, behind the scenes and more.
As a fan or patron, you are free to join and cancel your membership at any time. So, no strings attached. Once you cancel your membership, you will lose access to the member-only content and benefits.
Why is Indigo Craft Room joining Patreon?
If you follow my work, have attended one of my workshops or bought one of my products, you know that I deeply care about the details. As a content creator and maker, I would love to learn, experiment, create and share content from an independent position. But content creation, although it might sound easy, requires lots of time and effort. By joining Patreon and establishing my own membership community, I’m setting the base for a sustainable way of working, so I can focus on creating the high-quality, unique and detail-oriented content you deserve.
Does this mean that there won’t be any new content shared in the Indigo Blog?
Not at all! My Patreon page and the Indigo Blog are two different and independent channels. So, of course, I will keep sharing inspiration on the Indigo Blog 🙂 The Patreon page will mainly focus on marbling, while the Indigo Blog will stay there for all kinds of creative projects and interesting facts I like to share with all of you.
How can I join your Patreon community?
Very easy: On January 1st my Patreon page will go live, from that moment onward you can sign up and start enjoying the amazing content I’m creating for you. The registration and payment are done via Patreon, but if you have any question, just get in touch and I will do my best to help you further.
There will be three different membership options or tiers: Yellow Swirl, Blue Suminagashi and Pink Stone. They start at 3€/month and include member-only benefits like voting in polls, behind the scenes, marbling videos, live webinars, hand-marbled paper sets and much more!
You can join my Patreon community here.
What can I expect from your Patreon community?
I’m starting a Patreon community with the main goal of learning and experimenting with marbling as much as we can. This community is open to anyone with a passion for paper, paints and crafts in general. My focus and creative experiments will mostly be about marbling, but I love to combine techniques… Therefore, expect a bunch of inspiration and all kinds of crafts projects, too!
Not yet convinced? Here are 3 reasons to become a Patreon and join the Craft Room in this adventure!
1. Marbling 101: learn, experiment, create & share
Make marbling your new hobby! Every month we will dive into a new marbling technique. Month after month your marbling know-how will keep growing and your technique improving. I have a huge list of experiments and projects I would love to test, make and share with you!
2. Join an international community of like-minded creatives
This is probably one of the coolest highlights of Patreon: it isn’t just about connecting makers and patrons. As a fan, you will interact with other like-minded creatives around the world. Because of the member-only access, you can be sure we will be an engaged community, looking to support each other and share our impressions and tips & tricks. No spam or bots here.
3. Support traditional arts & crafts
Your patronage will enable me to experiment with new marbling and craft techniques, try different kinds of paints, papers and recipes – and share a detailed report of my experiments with you, saving you time, effort and fails. You will be supporting and encouraging my independent work as an artist and maker.
4. If you need an extra reason: exclusive benefits and merchandising!
Hand-marbled paper sets delivered to your home, personalized thank you cards and special discounts for the Indigo Shop! Yes, these are some of the extra benefits my patrons will gain access to once they join.
5. Ok, there is one last surprise…
I will be running a special launch offer from January 1st – 7th. All the patrons who join my community during that week will receive a unique hand-marbled postcard sent home and free access to my first marbling online session.
It’s a party, guys! I can’t wait to press the launch button. See you on January 1st on Patreon, till then if you have any question, feel free to contact me.
Your crafty fellow,
Karen
